ICPHSO Report / January 2017
A Note from Nancy
Dear ICPHSO members & friends,
I can’t believe it has been almost a year since I became President of this great organization. During this year we’ve had wonderful meetings – in DC, Brussels and Atlanta. We co-sponsored an important roundtable in DC with ASTM International on Information & Education campaigns, bringing in new voices that provided valuable insights. Don’t forget that the presentations from all our symposium sessions and the roundtable are available on our website under resources for members and attendees.
President-elect Rick Brenner and his committee have put together a great agenda for the 2017 Symposium next month. Check it out and get your registration in before the rates go up on 2/4. There is a lot going on in the product safety world with a new administration, court decisions, and emerging hazards – ICPHSO is the place to get the latest news and discuss how it affects stakeholders.
There will be many opportunities for networking in Orlando as well. We’ll be sharing more information shortly about our Dine-Around option for Tuesday, February 21. This will be a chance to talk with other ICPHSO members and attendees in a relaxed setting. Our networking breaks and receptions serve the same purpose. So plan now to build these options into your week at ICPHSO.
I’d urge you to take a look at our sponsorship opportunities that are still available. In particular, consider sponsoring our Scholarship Program . A donation of $250 or more will give you sponsorship benefits including publicity but more importantly, will help enrich the networking and presentations at the symposium. Funds are used to allow consumer organizations, academics, regulators from other jurisdictions and others who might not have the means to attend to add new viewpoints to our panels and learn more about working with all product safety stakeholders by attending the symposium. You can learn more in our Sponsorship Prospectus about this and other sponsor opportunities.
For all of us, the ICPHSO website is a wealth of information – if you haven’t visited in a while, please do. You can also follow our activities on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Watch for the hashtag #ICPHSO17 on these platforms and share with your followers as well.
As my year as president comes to a close, I want to thank all the members and supporters that make it such a great organization. I look forward to seeing many of you in Orlando.
Nancy A. Cowles, President
