ICPHSO Report / January 2017
Meet the ICPHSO Association Staff:
Many of you are already familiar with ICPHSO’s Executive Director, Marc Schoem, but not everyone is aware that behind Marc is a team of professional association managers that provides ICPHSO with the support we need to be able to keep ICPHSO running. You may have received an email from them or spoken to them on the phone as a sponsor or member when an issue came up. Now we would like to open the curtain and let you meet the team that assists daily.
When ICPHSO hired Marc, we also retained a new management association group (Drohan Management Group in Reston, Virginia) to support Marc and ICPHSO. Here’s a short profile of the Association staff that you have been interacting with behind the scenes for the last year.
Robin Turner, Association Manager
As a Senior Account Executive with DMG, Robin has been in the association management industry for well over 25 years. Daily, Robin works closely with Marc Schoem as well as the entire Board of Directors. She manages all aspects of ICPHSO with support from DMG departments such as finance, database, creative services, and other team members below. As key components of ICPHSO, Robin enjoys communicating with members on benefits and the three-yearly symposiums which brings her face-to-face with dedicated industry members.
Born, raised, educated and retirement plans in West Virginia, Robin is a West Virginia University alumni and fan. Together with husband Mat Grimshaw, they have two high school sons very active in an award-winning football program – family dinner discussions are on highlights from high school, NCAA and NFL football! When not in the football stands, Robin dedicates time to community charities and events.
Tara Reddy, Association Administrator
Tara Reddy, ICPHSO’s Administrator helps to effectively manage daily association operations for ICPHSO.
Tara is Robin Turner’s right hand person. Tara works with our leadership including the Executive Director, volunteer leaders including Officers, Board Members, and Committee Chairs, as well as with the general membership and others associated with or interested in the association. She responds to membership and registration inquiries daily while at the same time, helping to plan and execute our symposiums. Tara has over 5 years in nonprofit management & countless years in helping others through customer service. She has a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Social Work from Stockton University in Pomona, NJ. In her spare time, Tara enjoys spending time with husband, 15-year-old daughter and 1 year old son.
Heather Konya, Association Manager for Sponsorships-Exhibits
Heather’s responsibilities to ICPHSO include all interaction with sponsors and exhibitors. Working with our Sponsorship Committee members, Heather is the face and voice of ICPHSO to our many sponsors and exhibitors. She works individually with each to ensure each sponsor and exhibitor receives the attention they so rightly deserve as part of their critical commitment to ICPHSO. Heather Konya began her professional journey in NYC working for ten years with boutique talent agencies representing professional actors and visual artists for theater, television, film, and commercial print. Her love of running a business came from working in the entertainment industry. She returned to her Washington DC roots in ’09 and is currently employed at Drohan Management Group; Heather is excited to be a part of the ICPHSO team as the Association Coordinator for Sponsorships and Exhibits. She also serves as Marketing Manager for Association Media & Publishing and Director of Corporate Alliances for National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter— National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
